Atlas Copco takes B-BBEE to the next level
South Africa, Johannesburg, June 24, 2011: Atlas Copco South Africa recently underwent its annual B-BBEE Verification and is proud to announce an improved B-BBEE rating. Atlas Copco South Africa is now a Level 3 Contributor.
The improved B-BBEE rating is of benefit to customers across all industries, assisting customers in meeting their B-BBEE objectives, as well as improving their own procurement scores.
An important step in Atlas Copco’s B-BBEE transformation journey has been the recent approval of an equity share scheme. 25% plus 1 vote in the company is now held by a majority black-owned and controlled company.
Atlas Copco has previously deployed activities in employment equity, skills development, preferential procurement, enterprise development and socio-economic development. The company is proud of the progress made as part of its B-BBEE transformation journey, and as a result of the equity share scheme has now made meaningful progress in all seven pillars of B-BBEE.
